While treating erectile dysfunction it is necessary to consider a low level of testosterone.
The results of studies testify the necessity of a new method of treatment of men with ED and accompanying disturbances.
Lissabon/Berlin, November 26, 2007 – Bayer Schering Pharma completed comparative study of medications used in the treatment of sexual distortions in men. In this summary analysis including two cross studies done on the basis of “a double-blind method” and containing an element of chance 1,057 inhabitants of Europe, Mexico and the USA took part. The aim was to compare Levitra® (Vardenafil) with another inhibitor PDE5, which is present at the market. In the course of study of higher priority data for investigation it was stated that Levitra is not inferior in terms of its showing of another inhibitor PDE5. Moreover, an interview aiming to test the secondary showings of the drug done among the patients has shown that a significant number of respondents prefers Levitra and recognized higher level (conventionally significant) of content of the results of treatment in comparison with the other drug. The conventionally significance is understood as a statistic difference in the results shown by the two drugs; the yielded showings are of the research character and can not be qualified as results of a reliable clinical testing. Levitra improves the performance of erectile function, has a high degree of penetration into body and improves the quality of sexual life of the men who suffer from erectile dysfunction.
Nearly in 70% of men erectile dysfunction is a consequence of other disturbances of normal vital functions of body (fatness, diabetes, hypertension and high level of cholesterin in blood), which should be taken in consideration while determining a method of treatment. Apart from necessity in efficient and on-the-spot treatment of erectile dysfunction with accompanying disturbances, a medical doctor should also consider necessary a long-term improvement of the general state of the patient’s health. Initial disturbances may be the reason of erectile dysfunction and often are accompanied with a low content of testosterone. Low level of testosterone in men of middle age may result in decrease of the quality of life on the reasons connected with the health, including lower libido, depression, tiredness and erectile dysfunction.
European Testogel® is the most large-scale “double-blind” investigation with elements of chance and using of placebo, dedicated to the late hypogenitalism in the world. In the course of the treatment there was demonstrated how a testosterone therapy may increase the quality of sexual life and general state of health in men with a low level of testosterone. In terms of the scale of symptoms in men of middle age (Aging Male Symptom) there was shown a considerable rise of a subjective quality of life.
“Substantiated data testify that an on-the-spot treatment with the use of Levitra positively implies on the men’s health, suffering with erectile dysfunction, is a consequence of initial disturbances of vital functions of body, such as fatness, diabetes, hypertension and high level of cholesterin in blood. Thereby it is also important to control the level of testosterone. In case if the treatment is necessary, the increase of the level of testosterone will result in a significant improvement of erection, sexual content and the rise of the quality of sexual life”, notes Doctor John Dean, sexuality councel, General Secretary of the European Society of Medicine of Sexual Disorders (ESSM). “I am glad that these data were released at the meeting of the ESSM, thereby all of us may clearly see the connection between erectile dysfunction and initial disruption, likewise with a low level of testosterone in men’s blood”.
